Dr. Alejandro Reyes served as Dean of the University of the Philippines College of Medicine from 1989 to 1995, presiding over the modernization of the surgical curriculum and the establishment of the hepatobiliary surgery fellowship program. A Phi Kappa Mu Brod since 1968, he trained at Johns Hopkins and returned to serve at Philippine General Hospital for three decades. His textbook on biliary surgery remains a standard reference in Philippine medical schools.
